The GPD Group Employees’ Foundation presents Inclusion Day at the Soap Box Derby on Sunday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Inclusion Day is a day where individuals with all different abilities and their siblings will have the opportunity to take a ride down Derby Downs track in a ride-along Soap Box Derby car.

The Derby is partnering with the Autism Society of Greater Akron, Summit DD, and the Rotary Camp of Akron to provide this unique opportunity. In addition to the ride down the track, participants will enjoy lunch, entertainment, and other fun activities.

“This is a unique partnership with these organizations to provide a fun event for families,” said Derby President & CEO Joe Mazur. “We’ll be offering free rides for 300 people plus many fun activities. We’re excited about the partnership with the GPD Employees’ Foundation. GPD Group has been a partner of the Derby for a number of years and we are thankful that their Employee Foundation is partnering with us on this event.”

GPD Group President Darrin Kotecki expressed, “The GPD Employees' Foundation is proud to support this event which embodies our mission – to make a difference in the lives of children."

This event is open to kids from ages five and up who weigh 185 pounds or less. Cars and helmets will be provided.

This event is limited to the first 300 children. Tickets are available at the Autism Society of Greater Akron, Summit DD, and the Rotary Camp of Akron. If you have any questions, please call 330.733.8723 x24.
