NewsThank You Thursday - AAA Akron Auto Club02.16.2017 AAA Akron Auto Club is the longest tenured sponsor of the International Soap Box Derby, Inc. The Club supports the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship race and the Derby’s STEM-Based Education Program. In addition to financial support the Club’s executives have been a driving force on the Derby’s Board of Directors. Current Club President & CEO Brian Thomas is a former Board member and Vice President Kevin Thomas currently serves as the Chairman of the Board. “Brian and Kevin have been great supporters of the Derby,” said Derby President & CEO Joe Mazur. “Their knowledge and skill sets have been a tremendous asset to the Derby for more than a decade. We truly appreciate what AAA has done for us.” The local AAA club serves about 100,000 members in Summit County with auto, travel, insurance and financial services. The Derby would like to say THANK YOU to AAA Akron Auto Club for helping us continue our mission of building knowledge and character, and creating meaningful experiences through collaboration and fair and honest competition.
