 Bailey Evans

Here are some interesting things about Bailey:

Bailey Evans will be an 8th grader at Dublin Davis Middle School.  She's very active in cheerleading, track, taiko drumming, piano, ballet, violin and Slime creations!  She continues a long family tradition of racing in Columbus that dates back to 1939.  She enjoys competing agains her two sisters (Avery and Emmy) and her brother Nathan. We're so proud of you and we wish you all the best in Akron!  Enjoy the ride!

Meet Taylor Thompson, our new Super Stock Champion!  Here is a picture of Taylor with her trophies and her racer.

Taylor Thompson

Taylor Thompson is the daughter of Chris and Dena Thompson. She is a senior at Pickerington High School Central. Taylor has participated in soapbox through her engineering club Tiger Tech, as well as robotics competitions through the organization. Outside the club, Taylor has a love for arts and music. She's a four-year member of the marching band, and works as a stage manager for her school's theater, as well as Central's peer leadership program, Sunny Side Up and National Honors Society. Taylor began participating in soapbox in 2016. Last year, Taylor placed 2nd in the 2016 Columbus Local; and this year taking 1st place, qualifying for the World Championship. Accompanied by her mechanic Nicholas Johnson, who is now a graduate from Pickerington Central, they will be heading to the championship.  This was Nick's first year participating in soapbox. We would like to give recognition to our engineering club Tiger Tech, and to our coach Levon Thomas for allowing us to express the importance of engineering with real-life situations and also acknowledging our peers for giving us advice to strive for success.

Our congratulations go to Nick Hubbell, our 2017 Masters Champion!

Nick has raced in all divisions of the Soap Box Derby as both a local Champion and as a Rally Champion and we are hoping that this year he will bring home the World Championship in the Masters Local Diviision. Below is a picture of Nick's winning racer.
