FirstEnergyAll-American Soap Box Derby Countdown

About Us

Soap Box Derby is a family activity that's fun and educational for everyone involved. Close relationships between parents and kids are developed and new friends are made too. Racing inevitably creates the desire to improve and achieve, and also builds character and good sportsmanship.

Greater Lafayette Soap Box Derby will host racing for Stock Division, Super Stock Division, Masters Division and Super Kids in 2024.

Stock:  Participants in the Stock Division must be seven (7) years of age by the date of the first Local and/or Rally race in which they participate. They must not turn fourteen (14) years of age on or before July 31. Proof of age is required.

Super Stock:  Participants in the Super Stock Division must be nine (9) years of age by July 31 in the race year that they participate. They must not turn nineteen (19) years of age on or before July 31. Proof of age is required.

Masters:  Participants in the Masters Division must be ten (10) years of age by July 31 in the race year that they participate. They must not turn twenty-one (21) years of age on or before July 31. Proof of age is required.

Super Kids: The Super Kids race is available to special needs children ages 7-18.

The first place winners of Stock, Super Stock, and Masters divisions earn the honor of competing at the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championships in Akron, Ohio during the week of July 14-20, 2024.

Organizers of the GLSBD are all volunteers and we are always looking for additional help!
