2018 All American Local Super Stock World Champion

2018 Ashton Win 1 Small

Hopkinsville Kiwanis Soap Box Derby racers are making the program and the city proud. Local Super Stock Champion Ashton Grace competed against 81 drivers from around the world Saturday, July 21, and after five rounds and an intense race to the finish, was named the 2018 World Champion.  Grace was honored on a stage trackside as well as at the Akron Civic Center Saturday night with her parents, Daryl and Jennifer Grace, and sister Megan. Grace’s E-Z Auto Parts Super Stock Car will now be displayed in the “Barn” at the International Derby Downs Track in Akron, Ohio.  Car builders and handlers, Justin Grace and Spencer Warren were on hand for the races and to celebrate her win with the family. Warren is the owner of E-Z Auto Parts/Car Quest.

A police escort will lead the Graces into Hopkinsville Sunday and will end at Hillcrest Baptist Church around 12:30. Media is invited to attend and welcome the champion home.

Also bringing home hardware to Hopkinsville is Connor Bledsoe. Bledsoe was the 2017 Local Stock Champion and competed this year in Akron as a Rally Division competitor. He fought a hard four rounds to come out in Fourth Place in the World in the Rally Stock Division.

Also competing from our local race were Mollie Goode, Audrey Rains, and Courtney Planka.
