Beamsville & District Lions Club

Lions Club International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.  In 2017, we are celebrating our 100th year of service to those in need.

Whenever a Lions Club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better.  Beamsville & District Lions Club is here to help within our community and also with problems throughout the world through Lions Club International Foundation.

We are a group of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving Beamsville and the Town of Lincoln.  We are very diverse in our ages, family status, ethnic backgrounds, religions and careers.  We are working, retired and our many projects allow for involvement when you have time you can contribute.

To become a Lion is to become an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need.

The Beamsville & District Lions Club received our charter on May 3rd, 1939 with 29 members and today we have 40 members and continue to grow.  The Beamsville & District Lions have always had tremendous support from our community.

Our fundraising events include Fall Fair, Canada Day at Charles Daily Park, Christmas tree sales, a Food Concession Booth at the Beamsville Lions Community Sports Park, Lions Event Tent Rental, Event Trailer where we prepare and sell Fries/Hamburgers/Hot Dogs, Mobile Sausage Cart, Monthly Community Buffet Breakfast, Various Raffles, Pull and Win Lottery Ticket Sales through Shoppers Drug Mart.

Funds we raise support Lions Guide & Special Skills Dogs, Grimsby Hospital, Scouts, Local Minor Sports Teams,  Lions Special Needs Camps,  Lincoln Summer Reading Program, Lincoln Community Garden, Community Cares West Niagara, Big Brothers & Sisters, Niagara Eye Care, McNally House, Home for the Deaf, Lions International, a variety of Sight, Heart and Hearing programs and community compassionate needs.  We collect in excess of 25,000 pairs of used glasses annually that are refurbished and sent throughout the world to people in need.  Our first annual Lincoln Soap Box Derby which is sanctioned by the All American Soap Box Derby is set to take place on August 12th , 2017 at the Great Lakes Christian High School in Beamsville.

Our annual Lions Food Drive, in cooperation with Community Cares West Niagara is a vital service in the town of Lincoln.  This project has truly become a community event, including volunteer Fire Fighters, Niagara Police, Cadets, Scouts, Rotary Club, Various Church Groups and many community minded citizens of Lincoln.

Beamsville & District Lions Club looks forward with anticipation to continuing our work, as we strive to fulfil the motto of Lions the world over – “WE SERVE”.
