2016 PUMPKIN ROLL RALLY and SUPER KIDS RACE NEWS

We had a great turnout and great weather for our Fall race weekend.  The PSBDA hosted our annual Super Kids Race on Friday, October 14th and our fall rally race on Saturday and Sunday.  We had 11 Super Kids to participate this year.  Our winner was Geoffrey Bailey. The Hopkins County Board of Realtors helped with the operation of the race.  We appreciate all the volunteers coming out to Baldwin Drive for this special event.  For more information on the race and photos, see their Facebook page or Coldwell Bankers.

Our Pumpkin Roll Rally race brought approximately 40 race families to Madisonville, KY.  The fall weather was perfect. Race Director, Bill Farrell, did an outstanding job planning and preparating for the race.  He single-handedly put together trophies, rounded up pumpkins, haybails, mums, designed t-shirts and mowed the grounds around the track for the event.  Bill photographed each racer with their car in front of "fall backdrop" and presented the racers with a copy on Sunday.  Bill also organized a cookout after the Saturday races at the track and added a "haunted trail" for the kids to enjoy.  Bill does an outstanding job as race director for the Pennyrile Soap Box Derby.  Congratulations to those who earned a trophy this weekend and appreciate everyone that attended our race.

For more information, I have included the web news link for the races from iSurf Kentucky.

Facebook is the place for race news!

We are now on Facebook under "Madisonville Soap Box Derby" thanks to Jordan Moores.  Jordan is a former Local and Rally Champion.  She has worked to set up the site with current race information and photos.  We will keep all our race dates and news available on both sites.  Please take a look and give us a "Like".  Many thanks to Jordan.

Lukas Ramey takes 1st in Chattanooga

Lukas Ramey takes 1st place in the Masters Division at the Chattanooga Soap Box "Scenic City" Gobbler race over Thanksgiving weekend.  Ramey along with approximately 45 racers from New York to Florida celebrated the holiday racing.  Kentucky was well represented by taking 2 other first place finishes in the Masters Division, 1st place in the Super Stock and 2nd place in stock from Owensboro and Bowling Green racers.  Ramey started the Masters Division in August, 2015, after winning the World Championship in the stock division. Ramey was also interviewed by ABC Television-Chattanooga.  See attached link:
