NEW! THE CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP - April 2, 2017

The state of California will have a new and exciting Soap Box Derby State Championship on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Participants must live in the state of California and be between the ages of 7-20 years old. 

The double-elimination championship will be held at Hanover Street off Page Mill Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Free parking will be available at the Varian Parking Lot at the bottom of the hill.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for all divisions. Be the first ever California State Champion in your division!

There is a $25 registration fee to participate and all racers need to be registered by Friday, March 10, 2017. Register today to reserve your spot!

The California State Championship will follow the All-American 2016/2017 Rally Rules but you will NOT receive Rally points.

The race director reserves the right to alter the race format as needed (e.g., to accommodate weather conditions).

Please note that participating in/winning The California State Championship does not qualify the racer for the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby (FEAASBD) in Akron, OH. Also, if the racer has won their Local division in the FEAASBD, it does not disqualify the racer from this race.  The 2016-2017 AASBD rules apply, but rally points will NOT be awarded. This is a separate racing program.
