1999 Inductee Frank A. “Whitey” Whal Who has devoted a lifetime to the All-American Soap Box Derby, serving as finish line flagman, a charter trustee, 10 years as president or chairman, and 35 years as director of champions’ activities. He competed in the first Akron local race on Derby Downs in 1936.
