2007 Inductee Jimmy Collier Jimmy Collier first volunteered for the All-American Soap Box Derby in 1947, as a courtesy car driver for visiting Chevrolet officials. From 1949 through 1993, his chief responsibility was as driver for the Derby organization’s director of champion activities- a role in which he flourishes as a Soap Box Derby ambassador to visiting champions and their families, program sponsors and celebrities.
