WILLIAM (BILL) LOWERY

Retired President, Annaco

Bill graduated from the University of Akron in 1973, became a certified public accountant in 1975 and received his MBA from KentStateUniversity in 1985.

In 1978 Bill joined Annaco, Inc., a scrap processing and recycling company in Akron, Ohio. In 2001 he was named President and Chief Operating Officer. The company was sold in 2007 and Bill retired in 2008 after a short transition period with the new owners. In retirement, Bill is engaged on a part-time basis in financial and management consulting.

Bill is involved with numerous community activities and currently serves as President of Leadership Akron Class XVII, member of Leadership Akron N.E.X.T. Outreach Committee, member of various committees of the United Way of Summit County, advisory board member of the VNS Hospice Care Center, board member of the All-American Soap Box Derby and member of the Copley-Fairlawn Kiwanis Club. Other past involvements include the Small Business Council of the Greater Akron Chamber, the board of the Arkon Symphony, trustee of the Greater Akron Musical Association, the board of the Akron Jaycees, the Leadership Akron Alumni Association board, the Fairlawn Community Foundation board and various Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries trade association boards.

Bill and his wife Anne have three grown married children, six granddaughters and reside in Fairlawn, Ohio. Bill, an avid runner and triathlete, also enjoys skiing, golfing and reading.
