AKRON, Ohio  – International Soap Box Derby, Inc. (ISBD) and Myers Industries entered a partnership that allows the Soap Box Derby to discount the price of Super Stock car kits and Super Stock car shells for the next 3-years.

Myers Industries will be a major sponsor with branding throughout the Derby Downs property, and ISBD will receive discounts on Super Stock shells produced by Myers.   The Myers logo will be placed across the Derby Downs track as racers pass toward the finish line.  This three-year agreement allows the Derby to pass savings on to their racers across the country.

“This is a great deal for the Derby to have one of the top local businesses involved with our organization,” said Mark Gerberich, ISBD President and Chief Executive Officer.   “It is also a great opportunity for our race families to benefit from the savings.”

“Myers Industries is excited to work with the Soap Box Derby and support the Derby’s mission promoting life skills to these young racers,” said Matt Marchel, Myers Vice President and General Manager.

During the month of February, Super Stock kits will cost $550 and Super Stock shells will cost $150. There is an additional discount for the purchase of five or more which would bring kit costs to $500 each and shells costs $120 each. To take advantage of the five or more offers, please contact Jodi at or 330-733-8723 x34. The sale details can be found at
