We are looking to make sure the race is run quickly and efficiently.  Please note the rules about the calling of tickets and heading to the trailers.

All American Soap Box Derby Rules will apply:

  1. No lubricants, other than lighter fluid are permitted on the spindles.
  2. No spinning of the wheels after the driver’s meeting.
  3. Working on cars is permitted between heats, not between phases. However, it cannot delay the race and when a driver is called they need to report to get tickets.
  4. All drivers must maintain race position (as weighed), no ducking, shifting of weight or movement in the cars while on the track from the moment the paddles are dropped until the crossing of the finish line.
  5. There will be no coaching of the drivers after the paddles are dropped. Any and all guidance to take place prior to the paddle drop. First offense is a warning, second is a forfeit.
  6. No rags on the ramps.  Wiping of the wheels are permitted prior to the cars being placed on the ramps.
  7. Cars are to be set in the ramps, rear of the car is to be set (no touching or setting of the wheels). Drivers are to then get in the car.  There will be NO rocking of the cars.
  8.  Cars must maintain in the lane during race and in runout (if more than two wheels cross in either area – DQ [no warning given]) for the heat.  Hitting of the guardrail or timers is a DQ for the heat. Any damage to wheels, you will be responsible for that person’s wheels.
  9. When cars are stopped in runout, please expedite getting the drivers out of the cars and cars off of the track so we can get the cars down the track as quickly as possible.
  10. Drivers will be called twice for their cars.  If you are called a third time you will forfeit that heat. We will not wait for you to get your ticket.  There will be a time limit between getting tickets and when arriving at the trailers.
  11. All wheels must remain on the cars between the heats and not be removed prior to the wheel swaps.
  12. Smoking is not permitted near the pits or under the pavilion, it must be done near on the other side of the road or by the port-a- johns at the top away from the drivers.
  13. Wheel swap will be 2-4-2 progressive. If you are leaving and need to get your wheels.  You will need to make sure that you don’t just take your set of wheels. You need to make sure the other driver is there and you give the other driver a set of wheels to replace the ones you are retrieving.  You cannot take a set of wheels that are in the middle of a heat you must wait until the heat is completed.
