E.J. Brinson Special Project Executive, Entrepreneur Evis Brinson, affectionately known as “EJ”, is a faithful and devoted Husband & Father, who has focused most of his professional career and life to serve the community. He has been married to Alisha since April 28, 2001 and they have 4 children Tymerin, Elisha, Nehemiah, and Desteny. He is a 1996 graduate of Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio and went on to study Business Administration at the University of Akron. He started his professional career at Cingular Wireless where he rose through the ranks to manage corporate accounts. His accounts included, Mercy Medical, The Pro-football hall of fame, Summit County, The City of Cleveland, and many other major accounts. At the young age of 23 he became an entrepreneur and began to develop property in Akron, Ohio. Shortly after his venture into entrepreneurship, he was hired to be the Executive Director for P.R.A.C., Inc. During his time with P.R.A.C. he was able to position the company for strategic partnerships with Summit County, The City of Akron, Akron Public Schools, UNDC, ASCA Youth-build, Third Federal, Wells Fargo, Cuyahoga County, East Cleveland, Citizens Bank, NID, and many other stakeholders. Through these partnerships he was able to create mortgage loan programs, affordable housing, workforce programs, and other programs to enhance people’s lives. He is an incorporator, a co- founder and was a board member of Akron Community Development Association, Minority Behavior Health Group, which provides clinical counseling and mental health services to underserved populations in the Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and Columbus area. He helped develop commercial property to bring community-based learning to Summit County by way of Project Agape, which was recognized by the White House. He also provided property for Phoenix Village Academy, a charter school, which provided culturally appropriate education in Akron, Ohio. He has served on the Akron Urban League committee “AULBDC”; Summit County Planning Committee 2010; as a board member for First Tee of Greater Akron he chaired the Outreach Committee, and was tapped by Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro to serve on the Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee, focuses on the Akron Summit County Revitalization Committee, Summit County Think Tank Coalition, and is a board member with the International Soapbox Derby. He has also served as a political advisor and campaign organizer to help elect candidates for office to further strengthen the community. He has a wealth of business experience and knowledge that he uses to consult with clients to expand his business ventures.
