Create a Legacy With the Soap Box Derby

Leaving a gift to the International Soap Box Derby in your will or by beneficiary designation is a great way to invest in the future our youth through friendly competition and STEM education that will make a lasting difference for the racers, students, and educators of tomorrow.

RMD: Donation or Taxation?

If you are 70-1/2 or older, you can donate all or part of your annual IRAs’ Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to a qualified charity WITHOUT paying taxes on the distribution.

With the money given to the Soap Box Derby, you can:

  • Support the Soap Box Derby leadership and racing programs with a donation to the general operations of the Derby
  • Fund scholarships for youth to compete for world champion status and scholarships in the best gravity race in the world
  • Help under-served youth experience “the thrill of the hill” through Soap Box Derby racing programs
  • Provide a classroom with a STEM-based curriculum for designing and racing gravity-powered cars
  • Contribute to the capital expenditures of the Soap Box Derby (this year several projects for scoreboard, timing system, pavement and new ticket building)
