NewsSoap Box Derby Partners With Eaton Corporation For The Eaton Local Challenge During The 80th FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship07.12.2017 The International Soap Box Derby announced today that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Eaton Corporation. The Eaton Corporation will be the presenting sponsor of the Local Challenge race during the 80th FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship. The Eaton Local Challenge will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 starting at 7:30 a.m. and only local champions from the Stock, Super Stock and Masters divisions will compete. The event is a single elimination, three phase race where champs race in all three lanes, swapping wheels after each phase from a special wheel bank. The champ with the best time after three phases advances to the next round of competition.
