Soap Box Derby® President and CEO Joe Mazur announced today that a new SUBWAY® Challenge competition has been added to the racing schedule at the 2015 FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby.

The SUBWAY® Challenge will take place Tuesday, July 21-Thursday, July 23, as part of the festivities leading up to the 78th running of the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship race on Saturday, July 25. The SUBWAY® Challenge will include all Local Champs participating in Saturday’s race. They will race over the three days using a three-lane wheel and lane swap format. Winners will be crowned Thursday, July 23.

“We’re thrilled to be able to add more racing during our World Championship week,” said Mazur. “Two years ago we tested a Rally Challenge and it was a huge hit with our Rally Champs and families. The SUBWAY® Challenge is a tremendous addition. We’re thrilled that SUBWAY® Restaurants of Northeast Ohio has joined the growing list of partners at the Derby.”
