FirstEnergyAll-American Soap Box Derby Countdown

About Us

The Green Bay Area Soap Box Derby, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth development organization that promotes skills development in areas such as engineering, geometry, physics, and leadership.  The kids also form strong family bonds and life long friendships through the racing events organized.

The club organizes sanctioned FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby Rally and Local Championship races.  These opportunities offer the children a chance at participating in the World Championship event held in Akron, OH every July.

In addition, we also provide children with special needs the ability to participate in the Super Kids program.  This program utilizes special two-seater cars where a child is paired up with an experienced Soap Box Derby pilot to take on the hill.  Super Kids rides can be arranged on any of our rookie day and rally race events.  Our Local Championship race includes a double elimination Super Kids division as well with the winner having the option to represent the Green Bay area in the National Super Kids Classic held in Akron, OH the same week as the World Championship Soap Box Derby event.
Racing is a lot of fun for the whole family, but getting started can also be a little intimidating.  If you'd like to try the sport, we can help you out.  You can rent a soapbox derby car from the club.  These cars are very competitive, and they come with a helmet, wheels, weights, a driver fitting, and as much free advice as you're willing to listen to.  Please contact our Derby Director for more information
We race on Centennial Street in the Village of Ashwaubenon, a southwestern suburb of Green Bay, WI.  The top of the hill is at South Ridge Rd with the bottom at Allied St.  Pits are located topside within the north parking lot of the Envano Interactive Business building.  The pits can be accessed via driveways from Waube Lane or South Ridge Road.  The finish line is between the driveways of the Goodyear Wingfoot building.

The starting gates are built into channel ramps with an elevation of approximately 12 inches.  Cars are staged from the rear of the ramps.
